My Current Foundation Routine (With a Little More Glow)

I'm still very much obsessed with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation that I purchased a few months ago now! It's by far the best I've ever used in terms of lasting throughout the day and I love not having to worry about it disappearing or creasing by midday. For daytime I only wear a thin layer anyway, but now it's feeling more like Spring outside I've been adding a little bit of glow to my base routine. These are the products, tools, and steps I've been using recently.

My favourite way to apply foundation is with a damp sponge. I find it easier to blend this way and the finish is more natural compared to brushes (which I love for evening looks!). The one I use is the Real Techniques Complexion Sponge. The flat side applies and diffuses product quickly and effortlessly. I've been mixing one pump of foundation with a little of the Nyx Pro Foundation Mixer in Opal (anything similar will work too, I've also been using the Tanya Burr Face Illuminator). The difference is subtle, but I really like the slightly lighter coverage now the weather is warmer. Adjusting the foundation in this way, rather than using a completely different one, means I still benefit from the good lasting power that I know works for me. Once I've finished the bottle, I probably will try the lighter coverage version - the Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Foundation. After lightly powdering, the last thing I do is spray my sponge with setting spray and gently pat all over my face. At the moment I'm using the Rimmel #Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray (again, anything similar like Mac Fix+ will do). This both adds back the glow in certain areas that powder takes away and also helps everything last longer. I prefer to use setting spray this way rather than misting because I have more control (and also my mascara doesn't run!).

What foundation are you using at the moment?
