Current Everyday Makeup

29.1.18

Until fairly recently I felt that there was always one or two products in my daily routine that didn't quite suit me or I didn't like as much as others. Now I think I've finally found a whole set of products that are easy to apply and last well throughout the day. These are the products I am using regularly at the moment and how I like to wear them.

My current base is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in the shade 'Ivory Nude'. This lasts incredibly well all day on my shine prone skin and stays looking freshly applied. I really like not having to worry about creasing, cakiness, or touching up midday. My favourite way to apply this is with a damp sponge, which gives me perfected, but still natural looking skin. Corrector is a step I usually skip when I'm in a real rush, but when I have time a little of the Pixi Correction Concentrate on the darkest areas under my eyes makes a real difference. The peach colour helps to soften and blur the purple tones. Lastly, for base, the concealer I've been using is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. I dot this on under my eyes after the corrector, around my nose, and on any other areas of redness. It blends out easily and the coverage is good without looking heavy.

First step for eyes is always the NYX HD Eyeshadow Base which helps any shadow to stay put and last. It's flesh toned in colour so I also use this on very minimal makeup days to even out the colour on my lids. I apply a small amount to the center of my lids with the wand and then blend out with my sponge. Next I like to set with the Maybelline Single Eyeshadow in Nudist. This helps to make blending later on much easier too. For some definition and to make my lashes look thicker I like to tightline with the Rimmel Waterproof Khol Liner. It applies smoothly without dragging and doesn't transfer too much. My long term favourite brow product is the NYX Micro Brow. I outline the bottom of my brows first, and then stroke the pencil through to mimic hairs and add natural fullness. Last step for eyes is mascara and at the moment I'm using the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. This is one I've gone through several tubes of and will probably always go back to. The wand is the perfect size, the formula doesn't smudge, and it makes my lashes look thick and voluminous.

I don't really contour properly, but for a little definition around the outside of my face I like to dust on a little of the The Balm Bahama Mama using a large, fluffy brush. This also stops the foundation looking flat and mask like. Lastly, for blush I've been using Benefit Hervana. The mauve shade always works with any other colours I'm wearing and I find it tricky to over apply as the formula isn't too pigmented. I haven't included a lip product because I tend to throw on whatever happens to be in my coat pocket at the moment - usually some form of rose hued lip balm!
