October Favourites

These are my five favourite products from the past month - a mix of new product discoveries and some older purchases.

B. Sparkling Water Cleanser - £6.99
This cleanser is a relatively new addition to Superdrug's own B. range. It's a Korean-inspired cleanser intended to be used as the second step of a double cleanse routine. For years I avoided gel type cleansers like this because they were too drying, but this one leaves my skin feeling clean, refreshed, and comfortable. It transforms from a gel texture to water upon contact with the skin. The only thing I don't like is that it can sting, so I suggest being careful when using it on your eyes.

I've had this palette since it launched a while ago, but only recently I've been using it daily. The star of the quad is definitely the top left khaki shade 'Wild Jungle'. I like to apply 'Wild Jungle' first all over my lids and then either 'Tree Tops' or 'Master Plan' in the outer corner in a 'v' shape. I really like this palette for an everyday, natural look. The quality and pigment is really good for the price too!

Recently I've been struggling with my foundation wear time so when I spotted the new Rimmel Breathable Foundation with its promise of long-lasting medium coverage I was instantly sold! I chose the shade Ivory, which is a touch too dark for me (the shade lighter was too pink toned) but if I blend careful around my jaw it works. The foundation comes in a glass bottle and has a large concealer wand style applicator. In store I assumed it would have a pump, however I really like applying the product with the wand because I feel it's more precise. The coverage is buildable and once dry the finish is satin. I still use a blotting sheet at lunchtime but this certainly wears really well throughout the day. I would recommend this if you're looking for slightly fuller coverage that doesn't completely hide the skin.

Origins GinZing Eye Cream* - £20.50
I go through phases of using and not using eye cream but this month I found myself consistently using the GinZing Eye Cream from Origins. I tend to ignore any marketing promises because no eye creams have ever significantly helped with my dark circles, but I do like to use one that hydrates and sinks in well. The cream contains reflective pigments which do slightly improve the look of my dark circles on no makeup days, though the effect is only temporary of course. I do like how it leaves my eye area feeling comfortable and it absorbs quickly.

Tanya Burr Champagne Sorbet - £7.49
Another favourite from Tanya's range - the champagne highlighter. Now the weather has cooled, I've been enjoying adding a subtle amount of glow again. I use a small amount on a precision brush to highlight my cheeks and eyebrows. This shade adds the right amount of shine without looking too frosty. It's a step I skip if I'm in a rush, but a hint of glow does help me to look more awake on these cold, autumnal mornings!
